Bombay to Goa is a film which highlights the presence of a lot of participants from the Great Indian Comedy Show. Directed by Raj Pendurkar, the film boasts of an ‘comic’ cast of Sunil Pal, Raju Shrivastava, Ehsaan Qureshi, Tinu Anand, Vijay Raaz, Naveen Prabhakar, Rauf Lala, Asrani, Jagdeep and Paintal among others. Nitin Shankar is lending the music for the film on the lyrics written by Shabbir Ahmed.
The plot of Bombay to Goa revolves around Lal (Sunil Pal) and Das (Vijay Raaz). Lal dreams of starting a business of his own. He is determined to become rich in life. Das boasts of a work experience as a BEST (bus) driver. He is a ruthless and arrogant. He left his job as he was irritated by his boss’s behaviour.
Lal’s luck shines and wins an amount of Rs. 2 lakhs in a contest. They start dreaming big and doubling and tripling the amount. A suggestion comes from Das as to start a travel agency but the duo soon realizes that 2 lakhs are not enough to even buy a Maruti Car, leave about getting a bus.
They don’t lose heart and instead go to Chor Bazaar and buy spare parts of old cars and vehicles. Lal gives the money to Das and asks him to make a bus (look alike). Das assures Lal and asks him book passengers for the bus.
Lal starts spreading a rumour that his bus is the next palace on wheels. This way he manages to get around 15 passengers for his bus which is nothing less than a crappy amalgamation of spare parts. The passengers go mad at the condition of the bus and demand their money back. Somehow, Lal manages to convince the passengers that they will get passengers on the highway. This way the journey of Bombay to Goa is initiated.
The film has been extensively shot in Mumbai and Goa and will hit the theatres in 2007.
